Notable recent cases

  • Acted in a high-net worth property matter involving assets in excess of $20 million, including overseas real estate, which resolved following the initiation of proceedings and subsequent mediation.

  • Acted in a matter involving significant wastage by the other party, including conducting detailed tracing exercises to determine the extent of the expenditure and successfully advocate for a higher percentage division of the asset pool for the client on that basis.

  • Successfully acted for a parent to defend an application by the other party seeking care of the children where there were serious risk concerns regarding the other party, including criminal charges and the submission of counterfeit drug screens.

  • Acted in an urgent recovery application where the other party had removed the children from the state, resulting in an urgent airport watchlist order being issued where there were concerns the children would be abducted from Australia, and orders for the children to be immediately returned to the client’s care.

  • Conducted complex parenting proceedings which progressed to a Final Hearing, amidst serious risk allegations levelled against the client, which were borne out during the proceedings and resulted in Final Orders being made which provided for our client to have shared care of the children.

  • Advised same-sex couples on proposed donor agreements, both for intended parents and donors.

  • Acted for couples returning to Australia with children born via overseas surrogacy arrangements, including arrangements in the United States and Canada.
